Objective: The present study aimed to explain the position of gender in theoretical reason based on the foundations of the psychology of transcendent wisdom.
Method: This study was conducted using an analytical-descriptive method with a philosophical approach and utilizing the works of transcendent wisdom. For this purpose, first, the conceptualization of gender and theoretical reason was examined, then the rules and principles of transcendent wisdom in the discussion of gender and theoretical reason, the effect of gender on the perceptions of theoretical reason, and the relationship between gender and the levels of perfection of theoretical reason were explained.
Results: This research indicates that, based on the principles and foundations of transcendent wisdom, the true agent of all actions, including perception, is the soul itself, which appears at different levels, and its lower level, which acts through physical means, is influenced by this means, and gender differences, through their influence on temperament and physical powers, can affect the quality and type of sensory, imaginary, and illusory data that reach the soul, and lead to differences in some mental images. This influence is considered the underlying cause in obtaining some perceptions of theoretical reason and at the lower level of rational perception. Also, the equality of men and women in taking advantage of perceptual powers and the acquired nature of the levels of theoretical reason show that both men and women can, with the possibility of talent and the absence of obstacles, achieve the understanding of truths by acquiring knowledge. Theoretical reason at its higher levels, due to its complete rational abstraction, is free from all material attachments, and the element of gender will not have a distinctive effect on its perceptions.
Conclusions: The result is that gender has an effect on all levels of theoretical reason, including sensory, imaginary, and rational; although its effect can be different in each of these types of perception.
