Aims and Scope

Aims

The study of women and the family has long occupied a central place in both Islamic and non-Islamic intellectual traditions. Diverse epistemological frameworks have given rise to distinct theoretical and practical models concerning gender roles, familial structures, and societal well-being. The Islamic Journal of Women and the Family (IJWF), published by Al-Mustafa International University, a globally engaged academic institution, seeks to advance a rigorous, faith-informed body of knowledge rooted in Islamic epistemology. By drawing upon the scholarly expertise of its faculty and researchers, the journal aims to articulate scientifically grounded insights derived from Islamic teachings and to propose coherent, context-sensitive models for the empowerment, dignity, and holistic development of Muslim women and families.

The journal is committed to fostering original research, critical discourse, and interdisciplinary dialogue that contribute to the production, expansion, and refinement of knowledge in women and family studies from an authentically Islamic perspective. It particularly encourages innovative methodological approaches that bridge classical Islamic scholarship with contemporary academic inquiry.
