Developing a Conceptual Model for Enriching Spouses' Relationships with an Emphasis on Meeting Psychological Needs Based on Selected Hadiths from the Book Bihar al-Anwar

Abstract

The quality of spouses' relationships in the family is one of the most influential factors in the health and advancement of the individual and society. This study was conducted with the purpose of developing a conceptual model for enriching spouses' relationships with an emphasis on meeting psychological needs, with an emphasis on Islamic sources; thus, volumes of the book Bihar al-Anwar, which are dedicated in detail to the narratives related to interpersonal relationships and specifically to spouses' relationships, and in each chapter, Quranic verses related to the subject of the present study, were selected and the data were analyzed using a descriptive-analytical and quantitative-qualitative method. At the end and after validating the obtained results, 3 negative underlying components, 15 positive underlying components, 3 core components, and 7 consequential components regarding the enrichment of spouses' relationships were approved by experts, based on which a conceptual model for enriching spouses' relationships with an emphasis on meeting psychological needs and based on the narratives of the book Bihar al-Anwar was designed.
