Abstract

Objective: The present study aimed to investigate the mediating role of meaning in life in the relationship between the intimacy with the Quran and psychological resilience after divorce among divorced individuals.
Method: This study was conducted using a non-experimental descriptive-correlational method with a structural equation modeling approach. The population included divorced individuals living in Alborz province in 2023-2024. 200 people participated in this study through the convenience sampling using an online call distributed in virtual groups related to family and divorce. Data were collected using standard questionnaires of Khademi's (2010) intimacy with the Quran, Steger et al.'s (2006) meaning of life, and Connor' and Davidson's (2003) resilience and analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and path analysis in SPSS-22 and AMOS-23 software.
Results: The findings showed that the intimacy with the Quran (r=0.287, P<0.01) and the meaning of life (r=0.629, P<0.01) had a positive and significant relationship with psychological resilience. Also, the meaning of life fully mediated the intimacy with the Quran and psychological resilience after divorce (P<0.01).
Conclusions: The results showed that the intimacy with the Quran can enhance the psychological resilience of divorced individuals in facing post-divorce challenges by strengthening the meaning of life. Accordingly, utilizing Quranic teachings and strengthening the meaning of life can be effective in designing educational, counseling, and psychological interventions with the purpose of reducing the psychosocial consequences of divorce, promoting adjustment, and improving the quality of life of divorced individuals
